January 9 Update: Disney Management presented Union Representatives its “best” offer today. The offer on wages is largely the same as the original offer that only provides an initial $1.00 increase for all Local 362 Union Cast Members. The leadership of all six (6) unions of the STCU are unanimously recommending workers vote NO on this offer.

Disney workers are facing extreme financial difficulties including inflation, which has caused the price of food and rent to skyrocket. $16.00 per hour in 2023 does not keep up with the rising cost of living. Every worker needs an initial raise larger than $1.00 to address these concerns.
A vote of Union members will be held on February 2 and 3, 2023. Details on locations will be released at a later date.

 

November 2 Update: Negotiations with Disney Management have ended for this week. Progress was made on the effective date of an increase to the 3rd shift premium and the topic of bargaining over the Consumer Choice medical plan.

The remaining open items include wages, healthcare costs, child bonding leave, guarantee of hours, premiums, and Pension plan enrollment.

The next bargaining sessions have been scheduled for November 29 and December 1. For more information, contact your Shop Steward or Organizer.

 

October 11 Update: Representatives of the Service Trades Council Union have concluded an additional 2 days of bargaining with Disney Management. While progress has been made on many workplace improvements, several critical economic items remain open:

The current Contract has been extended on a month-to-month basis with the agreement that all wage increases be retroactive to October 2, 2022. The next bargaining session has been scheduled for November 1 and 2. The meeting location and start times are TBD.

Once a full agreement is reached by the parties, the deal will be subject to a vote of the Disney Union members.

October 1 Update: NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE! 📢

After a delay in our negotiations schedule due to Hurricane Ian, the Union bargaining committee and Disney Management returned to the negotiating table today.

After a full day of meetings, the parties were unable to reach an agreement. As a result, the Contract has been extended with retroactivity for any negotiated wage increases. Our next bargaining sessions have been scheduled for October 10 and 11 (location TBD).

Local 362’s bargaining committee remains committed to reaching an agreement that recognizes the dedication and commitment the membership of our Union in Attractions, Custodial, and Vacation Planning Cast Members earned as essential front-line workers to reopen the Theme Parks during a pandemic and since.

 

September 23 Update: Side Letters!

Union Representatives from UNITE HERE! Local 362 held job-specific bargaining sessions with Disney Management over the last two days. Local 362 and Disney have reached an agreement on or withdrawn all proposals related to Attractions and Custodial specific work rules that are non-economic.
All economic items will be discussed at the Main Table bargaining sessions scheduled for Thursday, September 29 and Friday, September 30, 2022, with all 6 affiliate Unions of the STCU. Sessions are scheduled to begin at 9am each day and will be held at the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort located at 12205 S. Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL. All Union members should attend.

 

September 9 Update: The 6 affiliate Unions of the Service Trades Council concluded negotiations with Disney Management for the week late Thursday evening. The parties have agreed to or withdrawn all proposals that relate to non-economic items. Union and Disney representatives have agreed to workplace improvements including time off rules, safety, coordinator language, and more.

Each affiliate Union will be meeting with Disney over the next 2 weeks to address job specific issues for the members they represent. Local 362 is scheduled to hold negotiating sessions on September 22 and 23 to discuss issues specific to Attractions, Custodial, and Vacation Planning Cast Members. These meetings will begin at 9am each day and will be held at the Wyndham Orlando Resort and Conference Center located at 3011 Maingate Lane, Kissimmee, FL. Local 362 Union members are encouraged to attend.

Main table negotiations resume on September 29 and 30. During those sessions, the parties are set to discuss economic items including wages, healthcare, and retirement.

 

September 1 Update: The Service Trades Council Union has concluded two days of bargaining this week. The six Unions of the Council reached tentative agreements on transfers, accommodations, and issues related to diversity and inclusion.

The Union and Disney management are scheduled to meet again next week on Wednesday and Thursday. Proposals concerning safety, wages, healthcare, retirement and more remain open. The Union negotiating committee is looking forward to reaching an agreement on these important matters.

 

August 25 Update: The Union negotiating committee of the Service Trades Council Union has concluded two days of bargaining. During the two days of meetings, the parties discussed work rules changes and improvements at work. Some of the topics included voting rights, transfers, sick leave, day-of extensions, and recall rights during a lay-off as well as other items.

The parties are scheduled to meet again next week on Wednesday and Thursday. Proposals to be discussed include wages, healthcare, retirement, premium increases, and other items.
